Statement of the Group of 77 and China during the Special session
of the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting 12 February 2010 delivered by Ambassador

Mr. Chairman,
I have the honour to speak on behalf of the Group of 77 and China to warmly congratulate you, on your election as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency. We wish you every success in fulfilling your mission and assure you of the full support and cooperation of the Group.
The Group of 77 and China would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to His Excellency Ambassador Dato Mohd Arshad Hussain for his dedicated work during his time of tenure as the outgoing President of the Board of Governors.
Indeed and over the past few months of his Chairmanship, Ambassador Arshad has dealt with the Board's work with a high sense of commitment, impartiality and professionalism striving to achieve consensus on various matters that were being considered by this Policy Making Organ.
His diplomatic skills were highly appreciated by the Group of 77 and China. Please convey to him our sincere thanks and appreciation and our best wishes in his future endeavours.
