Statement of the G-77 and China during the IAEA Board of Governors
Meeting 21 March 2011 delivered by Ambassador Taous Feroukhi, Permanent Representative
of Algeria
Mr. Chairman,
The G77 and China would like to reiterate its deepest expression of condolence
and solidarity to the people and Government of Japan following the devastating
earthquake and tsunami. We also wish to express our appreciation to the Director
General for the presentation of the Report on the visit he conducted to Japan
between the 17th and 19th of March 2011. The Group will continue to follow with
great attention the information provided by the Agency on the situation in the
Fukushima nuclear power plant, on the actions being implemented to overcome it
and on the role of the IAEA in that context.
